Invasive Species ControlMuch ecological management at Sheriff's Meadow focuses on reducing or eliminating the scourge of invasive plants, both upland plants and wetland plans. We’ve had particular success with work on Phragmites, the invasive common reed that can and does overtake marshes. Sheriff's Meadow also works to eliminate such upland invasive plants as Asiatic bittersweet, multilflora rose and Russian olive. Good examples of our work to eliminate these exotic, invasive plants can be found at Nat's Farm, Sheriff's Meadow Sanctuary and the Caroline Tuthill Preserve.
